The Muslim Students Association of the University of Nairobi (MSAUN) is a student-led association established to serve, represent, and empower Muslim students while contributing positively to the wider society. We are a community of students who believe that meaningful change is built on compassion, responsibility, and a shared commitment to uplifting society.

MSAUN exists as both a support system and a platform for action. We come together to share ideas, perspectives, and experiences aimed at improving our society. Through dialogue, collaboration, and purposeful action, we explore practical ways to respond to challenges affecting both students and the wider community. Inclusive in outlook, MSAUN engages diverse partners, volunteers, and supporters who share a common desire to make a difference.
Our initiatives extend beyond campus boundaries, connecting people, resources, and ideas to support education, advocacy, mentorship, and community outreach. In doing so, we encourage broad participation and collective ownership of the impact we seek to create.
At its core, MSAUN is built on the belief that change is strongest when driven by shared values and collective effort. We exist to inspire service, nurture leadership, and promote a culture of accountability and compassion. Through sustained engagement and purposeful action, we strive to contribute to a more informed, caring, and empowered society.

We don't just raise awareness; we take action. Our programs are designed to empower individuals, uplift communities that lead to sustainable development. We come together to share ideas, perspectives, and experiences, and to translate our shared values into meaningful efforts that contribute to the betterment of society. Our work is dynamic and responsive, evolving with the needs of students and the communities we engage with.
While our initiatives take many forms, our efforts are commonly expressed through the following focus areas:
We actively support vulnerable individuals and communities through charitable initiatives, donations, relief efforts, and community service programs that respond to real and immediate needs.
We create academic forums that provide inclusive spaces for learning, intellectual engagement, and open dialogue through discussions, workshops, and knowledge-sharing platforms on relevant social, educational, and faith-based issues. Thereby, the forums promote critical thinking and knowledge-sharing on matters affecting students and society.
We organise mentorship programs that connect students with peers and mentors to foster personal growth, leadership development, and academic excellence through guidance, support, and shared experiences.
We focus on educating, informing, and sensitizing communities on critical social, academic, and faith-based issues. Through campaigns, discussions, and public engagements, we increase understanding, challenge misconceptions, and build a well-informed community that is empowered to take positive action.

MSAUN Mombasa Chapter was established in February 2012 with the aim of unifying Muslim students at the university. Since its formation, the association has consistently served the wider community through community-focused initiatives and partnerships.
At the same time, it brings students together to foster unity, leadership, and collaboration, enabling them to actively contribute to the betterment of both the community and society at large through shared values, cooperation, and social responsibility.
